FLOKI

Floki is a 60ft narrowboat built in 2023 by Oakum Boat Builders, designed as a modern, high-spec liveaboard with a reverse layout and a large deluxe cruiser stern. She features an all-electric propulsion system, supported by a Vetus diesel generator providing reliable onboard power and charging capability. The Vetus unit is rated at 6kW, operating at 1500rpm, and is designed for efficient, low-noise operation, making Flowki particularly well suited to both cruising and extended off-grid living. Finished in a contemporary, stylish, and homespun aesthetic throughout, this is a thoughtfully engineered boat offering modern performance with traditional narrowboat practicality.

Entering from the spacious cruiser stern, the reverse layout leads directly into a well-appointed galley, designed with modern liveaboard use firmly in mind. The galley is fitted with an induction hob and cooker with oven, fridge, and an excellent range of additional appliances including a washing machine, dishwasher, freezer, and microwave, providing everything required for comfortable full-time living. A Pullmans dinette sits adjacent, creating a natural transition between the galley and living space.

Moving forward, the boat opens into a bright and sociable saloon, featuring a large L-shaped sofa that offers a relaxed and inviting space to unwind or entertain. Storage is well thought out and integrated throughout the boat, maintaining a clean, uncluttered finish while maximising practicality.

Accommodation is provided by a fixed convertible double bed, offering flexibility without compromising comfort. The bathroom is finished in a clean, contemporary style and includes a shower, vanity unit, and a composting toilet, making the layout well suited to both cruising and residential use.

Floki benefits from an impressive electrical specification, including shore power, full 12v and 230v systems, an 8000W Victron MultiPlus inverter, and a substantial domestic setup of five lithium batteries. Power generation is further enhanced by eight flexi roofline solar panels paired with two Victron MPPT controllers, providing excellent autonomy when off-grid.

Heating is provided by a diesel cylinder stove burner supported by diesel central heating, while hot water is supplied via a calorifier and immersion. From new, the hull was treated with 2-pack epoxy, and the exterior finish remains as built. She holds a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 2027.

Additional features include bow and stern thrusters, stern upholstery, a pram cover, and a bow cover. The boat is currently moored in Rufford, Lancashire, with mooring subject to marina acceptance.
