MARIA

Maria is a 45ft Traditional Stern narrowboat, built in approximately 1985 and understood to be a home-made craft, with the original builder currently unknown. Offering comfortable accommodation for two, she retains plenty of traditional character and provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a leisure boat with personality and scope to make their own.

Propulsion is provided by a 2-cylinder Lister Diesel engine, driving through a conventional shaft arrangement. The engine is housed within a dedicated engine room, providing straightforward access to the propulsion system while retaining the traditional character of the vessel.

Entering from the stern, Maria follows a traditional layout, with the engine room leading into the accommodation. The bedroom provides a fixed double berth with storage, followed by a bathroom equipped with a Porta Potti toilet, shower and basin.

Moving forward, the galley provides the facilities required for comfortable cruising, including a four-burner cooker with oven and grill, together with a 12v fridge. Continuing towards the bow, the saloon provides a comfortable living area with sofa seating which can also be converted to provide additional sleeping accommodation when required.

Heating is provided by a traditional Boatman's solid fuel stove, with hot water supplied through a calorifier. The boat is also equipped with shore power, 12v and 230v electrical systems and an inverter.
