MR. FUNKY

Mr. Funky is a 40ft cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2001 by a private builder, offering a well-maintained and thoughtfully updated vessel ideal for leisure cruising or comfortable liveaboard use. Recently refitted and presented to a high standard throughout, she combines practical accommodation with a solid specification and proven mechanical setup. Propulsion is provided by a BMW Marine diesel engine paired with a D50 gearbox and shaft drive, benefitting from regular annual servicing.

Entering from the cruiser stern, the boat follows a traditional layout that makes excellent use of the available space. The accommodation includes a fixed double berth which can be extended to the full width of the boat, creating a comfortable sleeping area while retaining practicality during the day.

Moving forward, the bathroom is fitted with a Porta Potti toilet, shower, and basin/vanity, providing all the essentials for extended stays aboard.

The galley is equipped with an oven and grill alongside a 12v fridge, offering a practical space for onboard cooking and food preparation.

At the bow, the saloon provides a bright and welcoming living area, with seating to both port and starboard sides. A central table allows the space to be used for dining and can also be converted into an additional double berth, providing flexible accommodation for guests when required.

The boat benefits from both 12v and 230v electrical systems, shore power connection, a Sterling inverter, and a battery bank comprising three domestic batteries and one starter battery. An onboard solar panel helps maintain the domestic battery bank and supports efficient off-grid cruising.

Heating is supplied by an Eberspaecher diesel heating system, while hot water is provided via a Surecal calorifier, ensuring comfort throughout the seasons.

The boat has been maintained to a good standard, with the hull last blacked in 2024, the exterior having been recently repainted, and a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 2029. Additional storage is available within the generous bow gas locker, providing useful space for cruising equipment and essentials.
