DESCRIPTION
Slow & Curious is a stunning 70ft x 12ft widebeam built in 2013 by Viking Canal Boats Ltd, offering an exceptional floating home finished to a high standard throughout. Designed with a highly desirable reverse layout and benefitting from an enlarged Euro cruiser stern, she provides spacious accommodation for up to six berths across two bedrooms, making her ideally suited to residential living, extended cruising, or as a stylish waterside retreat. With her contemporary finish and impressive specification, Slow & Curious has all the hallmarks of a high-end floating London apartment whilst retaining the practicality and freedom of life afloat.
Entering from the generous Euro cruiser stern, the boat opens into a spacious and well-appointed galley, designed as the social hub of the boat. Fitted with a Thetford MK3 Caprice cooker, 240v Shoreline fridge, and washing machine, the galley provides everything required for modern living aboard. Ample worktop space and storage make it equally practical for everyday use and entertaining.
Moving forward, the boat opens into a bright and welcoming saloon, furnished with a large sofa, armchair, and a dinette table seating six, creating a versatile living and dining space ideal for relaxing, entertaining guests, or family life aboard.
The bathroom is fitted with a large shower, Jabsco pump-out toilet, and vanity basin, offering spacious and comfortable facilities finished in keeping with the boat's contemporary style.
Accommodation is provided by two well-proportioned bedrooms. The principal cabin features a freestanding double bed, while the second bedroom benefits from a fold-out king-size bed, offering flexible sleeping arrangements for owners and guests. Combined with the additional berths available within the living areas, Slow & Curious comfortably accommodates up to six people.
The interior is presented in a modern and contemporary style throughout, with a bright, spacious feel enhanced by double-glazed windows and thoughtful design. Storage has been carefully incorporated throughout the boat, making her particularly well suited to long-term residential use.
Propulsion is provided by a 75hp Beta Marine diesel engine paired with Vetus hydraulic wheel steering, delivering smooth handling and dependable cruising performance. Manoeuvrability is further enhanced by a Lewmar 185TT bow thruster, making handling straightforward despite her generous dimensions.
The electrical specification is equally impressive, featuring shore power, full 12v and 230v systems, a Victron MultiPlus Quattro 3kVA inverter/charger, and a substantial battery bank comprising four carbon gel domestic batteries totalling 960Ah, alongside a 120Ah Lucas starter battery. Off-grid capability is supported by four solar panels producing 400 watts each, together with a Beta Marine Betaset 7.2kVA generator, providing excellent onboard power generation.
Heating is supplied via a Webasto Thermo Top-C 5.2kW diesel heating system, while hot water is provided through a twin-coil calorifier, supported by the Webasto system and immersion heater.
From new, the hull was professionally grit blasted prior to coating, and in 2024 benefitted from 2-pack epoxy blacking. A survey was completed in 2024, and the boat holds a Boat Safety Certificate valid until 2029, providing additional confidence for prospective purchasers.
