DESCRIPTION

The Rising is a 57ft cruiser stern narrowboat built in 2016, featuring stylish 10/6/5/4mm steelwork by D P Bridgeman Boat Builders and a professional contemporary fit-out by Dursley & Hurst. Presented in a light and airy style with painted panels, solid light oak trims and comfortable four-berth accommodation, she offers a well-planned reverse layout with a particularly spacious interior.

Propulsion is provided by a 42hp Canaline 4-cylinder diesel engine coupled to a PRM 150 D2 gearbox with 2:1 reduction, driving the propeller through a conventional shaft arrangement. The engine is housed beneath the rear cruiser deck, with twin 12v alternators providing charging to the start and domestic battery banks.

Entering from the stern, the reverse layout leads directly into a spacious open-plan saloon. The saloon is comfortably furnished with two leather swivel reclining armchairs and a matching footstool, alongside half-height display shelving. Heating is provided by a Morso solid fuel stove set upon a tiled hearth and surround, complemented by a Webasto diesel-fired central heating system supplying four radiators.

Forward of the saloon is a raised Pullman-style dinette with padded bench seating and useful storage beneath. The dinette converts easily into an additional double berth, providing flexible accommodation for up to four people. Steel side doors are positioned alongside the dinette, allowing plenty of natural light into the living space and providing convenient access to the towpath.

Continuing forward, the walk-through galley is fitted with contemporary grey gloss units, oak block worktops and a good range of storage. Appliances include a Thetford Argent four-burner gas hob with glazed lid, built-in gas oven and grill, Inlander 12v fridge with ice box, microwave housing and a stainless-steel sink and drainer. A dedicated wet locker and additional storage further enhance the practical layout.

The full-width shower room is fitted with a quadrant shower enclosure with thermostatic shower and glazed doors, a corner vanity unit with porcelain wash bowl and Swan's Neck mixer tap, together with a Thetford cassette toilet and spare cassette. A central heating radiator and opening portholes provide comfort and ventilation.

At the bow is the master bedroom, entered through the steel two-thirds glazed front doors. The cabin provides two single beds positioned either side of the room, each with storage beneath, which can be converted into a large double berth across the boat. There are full-height wardrobes either side of the entrance and four double over-bed cupboards, providing excellent storage. A 20" Cello television with built-in DVD player is also fitted.

The interior has been finished with cream-painted plywood panels, solid light oak trims and satin-varnished woodwork, complemented by engineered oak flooring throughout. Spray foam insulation is fitted behind the cabin linings.

Rising is equipped with shore power, a 2.5kW Sterling pure sine wave inverter/charger, Victron battery monitor, one starter battery and four 110Ah deep-cycle leisure batteries, supported by twin 12v engine-driven alternators. Heating is provided by the Morso solid fuel stove and Webasto diesel-fired central heating, with hot water supplied through a twin-coil calorifier heated by either the Webasto boiler or engine.

Externally, the boat benefits from a cruiser stern with removable padded seating, a front cratch and cover, steel gas locker/seats and a hardwood taff rail with metal seat. The exterior paintwork would benefit from some TLC, and the boat was last docked for blacking in August 2019. Four anodes protect the hull.

The boat has a Boat Safety Scheme Certificate currently recorded through to 2026. Mooring is available by separate negotiation.

Rising offers a particularly attractive combination of professional steelwork, quality contemporary fit-out and a practical reverse layout, providing comfortable four-berth accommodation in a 57ft cruiser stern narrowboat. With her spacious living areas, flexible sleeping arrangements and comprehensive onboard systems, she would make an excellent choice for leisure cruising, extended holidays or those looking for a comfortable boat with the facilities to spend extended periods aboard.
